Last Day of ride 1600 kms nearly done
In 20 mins we will set off on the last leg of the 2nd HATW 800 km bike ride. I've slipped off blog content but have photos and the GPS routes to upload once we are finished.
Yesterday was 106 kms into the hills of beautiful Kao Sok National Park. The last major leg into the hills brought a change from hot sun to a soaking tropical downpour that made it hard to see at times. By the time we made it to our accommodation however the gods were smiling and the sun was out for the traditional last night pool party. A fantastic setting next to towering limestone cliffs. Today will be an emotional day. After we conquer The Big Hill it is a run downhill then into Takua Pa and the temple where thousands of bodies were brought after the 2004 tsunami. Some of the kids will meet us there on bikes and we will ride together to reunite with our family and friends- Falang and Thai, at Baan Tharn Namchai. Once again it has been a great journey - this time twice the distance. Every day even the hard ones have been worth. It will be good to finally get off the bike but not to say goodbye to my new friends.
Thankyou to everybody who contributed to my sponsorship. You are making a difference to children's lives.
