HATW NE Ride Day 7 Photos and GPS
This was the longest day. A new route found by the team at Tour de Thailand (aka Hua Hin Bike Tours) who run the HATW rides. A nice mix of long stretches of main roads and back roads that were relatively smooth. This suited the extra kms required and allowed for group riding and higher average speeds. That is not to say there weren't the normal corrugations, potholes, sandtraps and a detour along the way just to remind you that you were in Ne Thailand. There was a some trepidation in the morning at the thought of 130+ kms but a real sense of achievement when the day was done.
Above is Team Kiwi - Frank from Perth (ex Taihape), Chris from Wellington, Lisa from Adelaide (ex Hamilton), Nickie from Auckland, and moir.
The day finished in the Hotel carpark with a visit from some of the smaller children from Home Hug HIV orphanage to reunite with their beloved May Thiew, the director and founder of Home Hug. May Thiew is riding on a tandem for her 3rd ride. She is a cancer survivor and for her each ride is a real physical challenge, and a lesson to the children of Home Hug that anything can be achieved even through sickness.
Our last day tomorrow so the night finished late with dancing and karoeke..... again no suitable pictures are available for publication....
