HATW NE Thailand Ride 1 Day 6 Mukdahan to Khemamarat 93kms

An enjoyable days riding today.  All done and dusted by 3pm finishing at  pleasant bungalow accommodation on the banks of the Mekong.

The morning was the coolest so far with a few jackets and extra tops being worn for the first stage. Mostly the 1st morning stages are flat gentle runs but this one had rolling hills and soon got the body temperatures up.

The next stages were back roads including some dirt and shingle but in contrast to other days were generally flat and smooth.

 The last two stages into lunch were back to rolling hills and the last stage challenged most of us - bumpy rough tarmac, head winds and the hills stretched on. All of the team are getting into group riding now and times and performances continue to improve.

 Lunch was a welcome stop at a "new" rustic local eatery who welcomed us with a banner and plenty of photographs being taken.

After lunch it was a short and relatively gentle run to the bungalows with plenty of time to relax in the cool river breezes.
