HATW NE Thailand Ride Day 3 - Bueng Kan to Ban Phaeng 109km (+GPS link)

Our first long day. Was feeling a bit dry this morning after a few beers last night. The morning dawned a little chillily ( is that a word) again and the arms were cold setting out at 7:30. By  the leg before lunch however the cloud cover had burnt off and the afternnon riding was hot and sweaty.

People are finding their riding legs ( several doing 100kms for the first time) and a bit of group riding developed as the day wore on, I tried to keep pace with  the fast group before lunch but they burnt me off at about 35km per hour.....sounds like a target to aim at.

Bar ends were added to my handle bars on day 2 and they have been a godsend making it much more comfortable for my wrist so I shouldn't need to have any time off the bike. I am still happy when the bumpy bits are over though....

Todays was a great mix of back roads through farms and villages  as well some main road riding along long flat leafy straights. We finished through some lush forest foothills which provided a nice coolish end to the day. And to top it off decent wifi!

Will post this and then add photos from my iphone so check back later  if you see no photos.
