Koriniti to Baan Tharn Namchai

Last big training ride before heading back to Thailand for the annual Hands Across the Water charity bike ride. Thanks again to sponsors and supporters.

I am riding the 800km Southern ride only this year from Petchaburi to Khao Lak between 15 & 23 January. The 800km northern ride began today in Thailand with mother and daughter team Kate & Polly Gibbs flying the Kiwi flag.

The training ride in the link below took me ( and fellow rider Paul) up the Wanganui River Road to Koroniti Marae and a little Catholic Church that Sue's great uncle, Father Wiremu Te Awhitu, the first Maori ordained Catholic priest, used to preach at.

Nice to touch base with some family history before catching up with my Thai and Aussie whanau...

Excellent build-up, with family history thrown in.
