The Big Ride Day 3 - Prachuap Khiri Khan to Ban Krut

Can't get wifi on the laptop so writing this post on my phone. As no laptop wifi can't download the route map. Will do so at the next stop hopefully. Short day today 74 kms. Was very hot though. Another scenic day. Beautiful sunrise over the bay as we set off. Road through an airforce base stopping to feed monkeys. A fair bit of road riding some on the highway but good wide hard shoulders. Mixed up with that was riding through coconut palm plantations on concrete and dirt roads, ending up at the beach town of Ban Krut. Beautiful beach and nice hotel - bungalow accommodation. Lunch was (good) Italian with icecream to follow to make a change from Thai food. Visited the local temple as a side trip this afternoon. Feeling quite tired this evening. Tomorrow is 116kms and sounds like quite a hard day which is followed by the rest day. Hope to add photos and today's Route link during the rest day.

Hi Andy, great to see the blogs starting to come alive, few more details of the spills and thrills would add a bit more colour :).
For those wanting to see the Garmin stats in km's etc there is a METRIC button on the top right corner of the page.
There must be some karma going around about bike riding, was thinking in the past week about doing a long ride overseas and then on Tuesday I get a call, I had won an Italian trak bike in a raffle. I can see some long training days coming so keep the details on the ride coming I will need some tips for survival.
Best wishes from the westies.
Matt & Andrea
